March 2022
Source Capital, through its first SBIC fund, is pleased to announce its investment in AE Tools & Computers ("AET", or the "Company"), an automotive diagnostic tool services provider and distributor. The fund supported Kilroy Partners' ("Kilroy") acquisition of AET by providing debt financing and an equity co-investment.
Founded in 2003 and based in Olathe, Kansas, AET is a value-added distributor of OEM and aftermarket hardware and software that are used by technicians to diagnose and to repair cars and trucks. The Company's live, on car support, comprehensive product knowledge and extensive supplier relationships reduce the time required to fix the vehicle and, thereby, increase asset turnover for independent repair shops, collision centers, used car and truck dealers and commercial and governmental fleets. For additional information on AET, please visit www.aetools.us.
Kilroy and Source partnered with AET's founders, Joey Hendrich and Mike Muck, to accelerate the Company's geographic expansion and to invest in key growth initiatives."We value the relationship we have developed with Joey and Mike. The Company's impressive growth, attractive cash flow, diverse and recurring customer base and compelling value proposition make AET an attractive addition to our portfolio."- Mark Hughes, Managing Partner of Kilroy
"We are excited to partner again with the Kilroy team and look forward to supporting AET's growth as they continue to expand their best-in-class support services and products throughout the automotive market," said Joe Rodgers, Managing Director at Source Capital.
